Chevrolet Captiva - now even better value!

If you’re looking for a value for money SUV then check this out.

The Chevrolet Captiva already has a reputation for offering superb value for money but it has just got better as Chevy has added a new entry level to its range.

At £18,295, the new five-seater Captiva 2.0 VCDi LS is £1,900 cheaper than Kia’s base model Sorento, over £2,000 less expensive than the cheapest diesel Nissan X-Trail, and more than £3,500 less pricey than the five-seat Hyundai Santa Fe 2.2 CRTD GSi.

Despite the price, the Captiva is loaded with kit.

On the inside there's aircon, electrically-adjustable heated door mirrors, an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat a powerful six-speaker RDS radio/CD player with MP3 socket and steering-wheel mounted audio controls.

The exterior receives 16-inch alloy wheels, a glass-flip tailgate and charcoal-effect roof rails. Safety hasn't been forgotten as the entry level Captiva comes with front, side and curtain airbags, and on the security front it has remote control two-stage deadlocking.

Under the bonnet, there’s a 2.0-litre 150PS common-rail diesel engine and this is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It’s quite nippy as it can do the zero to 60mph in 10.8 seconds and it has a top speed of 112mph. Official figures claim that this unit can get 38.7mpg on the combined cycle and it emits 195g/km.
