Ford enhance S-Max and Galaxy
Taking it to the S-MAX! Ford has announced that both the S-Max and Galaxy models are get the new top of the range 175PS TDCi engine.
The engines are noted for their performance, as the 175PS 2.2 litre Duratorq is the largest displacement and most powerful diesel installation available in Ford of Europe’s passenger cars. The S-Max has a starting price of £17, 800 and the Galaxy has a starting price of £19, 800.
The engine provides an output of 400Nm of torque at 1,750rpm.
Power output has went up by 10PS from the previous 130PS to 140PS for both the 2.0-litre diesel variants of the S-Max and Galaxy ranges.
The Galaxy and S-Max also feature a new green variant in the shape of what Ford call a flexifuel vehicle – that is a vehicle that can run on any mix of petrol and bioethanol in the same tank.
Ford have also introduced wireless Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity which comes as standard across both model ranges. In the S-Max Titanium – the flagship model – now has Solar Reflect Windscreen, ambient lighting and chrome door handles as standard whilst on the options pack Titanium X it includes bi-xenon lights.
Entry-level models on the S-MAX and Galaxy ranges now boast a new name with both becoming Edge instead of LX in order to fit with other revisions to other Fords.
